Holistic Support Counseling & Coaching

Caring for the Whole Person

At Interwoven Clinical Services, we believe emotional well-being is connected to every part of life—including relationships, physical health, spirituality, culture, education, employment, recovery, family responsibilities, and community. Our holistic approach considers the whole person, not just symptoms or diagnoses. We offer counseling, coaching, psychoeducation, advocacy, resource coordination, and supportive services for individuals and families navigating specific life concerns. Services are compassionate, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, evidence-based, and tailored to each person’s needs, values, strengths, and goals.

Clinical staff determine the appropriate level of care through screening, assessment, safety considerations, and the individual’s needs. Services requiring clinical diagnosis or treatment are provided by appropriately qualified professionals. Psychotherapists work in collaboration with your support services and unlicensed counselors or coaches here at Interwoven Clinical Services.

Counseling, Coaching and Psychotherapy

Interwoven Clinical Services offers different levels of support based on the client’s needs and the assigned provider's qualifications. The terms counseling and psychotherapy are sometimes used interchangeably but are not the same. Licensed mental-health professionals may provide both counseling and psychotherapy depending on their specialty. The main differences generally involve purpose, clinical depth, provider qualifications, and the type of concern being addressed.

Psychotherapy - Appropriately licensed clinicians or qualified associates and trainees provide psychotherapy under legally required supervision. Psychotherapy is a clinical mental-health service used to assess and treat psychological symptoms, emotional disorders, trauma, persistent behavioral patterns, or significant relationship difficulties. Psychotherapy may address: depressive disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress (PTSD), persistent grief or complicated bereavement, suicidal thoughts or self-harming behaviors, significant emotional dysregulation, personality Disorders, substance-use and co-occurring mental-health disorders, attachment and long-standing relationship patterns, serious impairment in daily functioning, and other diagnosable mental-health conditions. Psychotherapy may include a clinical assessment, mental-health diagnosis, an individualized treatment plan, evidence-based interventions, ongoing risk and safety assessment, clinical documentation, measurement of symptoms and treatment progress, coordination with medical or psychiatric providers when authorized. It may be brief and structured or longer-term depending on the person’s needs, diagnosis, goals, progress, treatment approach, and preferences.

Supportive Counseling and Education - Supportive counseling may focus on adjustment, education, decision-making, resources, and emotional support. The provider explains their role as a counselor. Supportive counseling does not include mental-health diagnosis or independent treatment of a mental disorder.

Coaching - Coaching focuses on personal goals, motivation, accountability, wellness, parenting, education, career development, or life transitions. Coaching does not include mental-health diagnosis or independent treatment of a mental disorder.

Pastoral and Spiritual Counseling

For clients who wish to include faith, spirituality, meaning, or personal beliefs in their care, we offer spiritually sensitive support or referrals to qualified pastoral and spiritual-care providers. Support may address spiritual distress, questions of faith and meaning, grief and loss, forgiveness and reconciliation, religious or spiritual identity, major life transitions, illness and end-of-life concerns, family and relationship challenges, connection to faith communities, and integrating spiritual beliefs with wellness goals. Spiritual support is always client-directed. Interwoven Clinical Services respects all religious traditions, spiritual perspectives, and nonreligious worldviews. Clients are never pressured to adopt a particular belief system.

Wellness and Life Coaching

Wellness counseling and coaching can help individuals develop healthier routines, clarify goals, improve motivation, strengthen coping skills, and create greater balance in their daily lives. Coaching services focus on personal development and present or future goals. Coaching is not a substitute for psychotherapy, diagnosis, crisis intervention, or treatment of a mental-health disorder.

Parent Counseling

Parent-focused services help caregivers better understand their child’s needs while strengthening communication, structure, and family relationships.

Support may include: positive parenting strategies, age-appropriate expectations, household routines, communication and active listening, consistent boundaries, behavior-management strategies, co-parenting support, parent-child relationship building, support during separation or divorce, caregiver stress and burnout, school collaboration, and referrals for child or family therapy. Parent coaching is educational and skills-based. When a child or caregiver has a mental-health condition requiring clinical treatment, services are provided by or referred to an appropriately licensed professional.

Recovery Support

Recovery is a personal process that may involve rebuilding relationships, developing new coping skills, strengthening community connections, and creating a meaningful life. Recovery support may include: individual recovery goals, relapse-prevention planning, identifying triggers and warning signs, developing healthy coping skills, recovery-oriented routines, connecting to community resources, family education and support, peer-support referrals, coordinating with treatment providers, and support during transitions between levels of care. In addition, when clinical substance-use treatment is needed, we provide referrals to services that are provided by or coordinated with appropriately licensed, registered, or certified professionals.

Substance-Use Counseling and Education

We provide supportive and educational services for people concerned about alcohol, cannabis, prescription medication, or other substance use. Services may include: substance-use education, harm-reduction education, recovery and relapse-prevention planning, identification of triggers, refusal skills, family education, and referral to detoxification, residential, outpatient, or medication-assisted treatment. Clinical staff determine the appropriate level of care through screening, assessment, safety considerations, and the individual’s needs. Services requiring clinical diagnosis or treatment are provided by appropriately qualified professionals.

Career Counseling and Coaching

Career concerns can affect confidence, relationships, finances, and emotional well-being. Career-focused services can help individuals clarify their direction and make thoughtful decisions. Support may include career exploration, identification of strengths and interests, professional goal-setting, workplace stress, career transitions, job-loss adjustment, work-life balance, résumé and interview preparation, workplace communication, professional confidence, burnout-prevention planning, referral to vocational or employment resources. Career counseling does not replace specialized vocational testing or disability evaluations when those services are required.

Academic and College Counseling

Students may experience academic pressure, uncertainty, social changes, family expectations, and difficulty balancing school with other responsibilities. Support may include: academic goal-setting, study routines and time management, adjustment to college, stress and performance anxiety, motivation and accountability, communication with instructors or support offices, balancing work, family, and education, transitioning into or out of college, exploration of educational options, referrals for tutoring, disability accommodations, financial support, or campus resources. Clinical concerns such as significant anxiety, depression, trauma, or attention difficulties may require evaluation or psychotherapy from an appropriately licensed professional.

Domestic-Violence Support

We offer trauma-informed, nonjudgmental support for individuals affected by intimate-partner violence, coercive control, emotional abuse, financial abuse, stalking, or other relationship-related safety concerns. Support includes emotional support, individualized safety planning, education about patterns of abuse, connections to shelters and advocacy programs, referrals to legal and protective-order resources, resource coordination, support with rebuilding independence, parenting and family support, referrals to trauma-focused psychotherapy, and coordination with community organizations, when authorized. We respect each person’s autonomy. We do not pressure individuals to leave a relationship or take a particular legal action. When there is immediate danger, call 911. Specialized domestic-violence programs may provide emergency shelter, confidential advocacy, and legal assistance.
